Football shoes for men & women
Football shoes at great prices from established brands in the sport such as Nike, Adidas and Puma - for men, women and children. Choose the right shoe for the right surface, among our selection you will find shoes which are suitable for gravel, grass, artificial grass and indoor floors. On the different surfaces there is a difference on the length of the studs; a shoe for grass does not demand as long studs as for a shoe that will be used on artificial grass, because they are more likely to wear out faster there.
Which football shoes are right for you?
Football shoes are available in many designs and models. The first thing you need to think about is what surface you are playing on. The studs on the underside of the shoes are adapted for different surfaces. This means, for example, that football shoes for grass have studs that provide the best grip on grass without risking injury to the player. The rest of the shoe's material is also adapted to the surface. A shoe for a surface can wear faster if it is used on the wrong surface and for the right to make a complaint, you must think about which surface the shoe is intended for. Below we go through the most common names so you have an idea before you buy your new shoes!
FG - shoes for real grass
If you play on real grass, a shoe with the name FG is the best. Here you will find the most shoes as it is still the dominant surface in football. FG stands for Firm Ground. FG football shoes have studs that are designed to go down into the grass and give you a grip so that your game becomes more effective. The pressure from the foot when you run is evenly distributed between the studs and provides increased comfort and shock absorption.
SG - shoes for wet, soft grass (rain shoes)
If you have a soft grass field at home or if it has rained heavily, you should choose SG shoes. SG stands for Soft Ground. An SG shoe has slightly longer studs but fewer. This means that your weight is distributed on fewer points and the pressure on the ground increases. This means that the studs reach further down through the grass and provide a better grip. Just be careful, if you use SG shoes on a dry and long-haired field, the longer studs can make you get stuck in the grass with your feet, which leads to an increased risk of injury. And because the shock absorption on SG shoes is lower, the load on your feet and knees increases if you run on hard surfaces. So, think of an SG shoe as an extra shoe that you only use as a rain shoe or when the surface is loose and soft.
AG - soccer shoes for artificial grass
Clubs and municipalities in Sweden have been good at investing in artificial grass and it is very common for training and games. The artificial grass makes special demands and shoes marked with AG (Artificial Grass) are optimized to suit games and training on the all-weather surface. An AG shoe is similar to an FG shoe with its many and short studs. Just like a grass shoe, a football shoe for artificial grass provides good shock absorption and grip without risking getting caught in the artificial grass. An important thing to remember is that artificial grass wears hard on the shoes and an AG shoe is therefore much more durable.
Football shoes for indoor games
Indoor shoes for football are designed to provide good ball contact and fast movements. An indoor field has been the natural choice to play football on for a long time, when the cold weather is coming and the outdoor fields are covered in snow. But after more and more clubs paid for artificial grass that can be played all year round, artificial grass became more attractive instead. In recent times, however, indoor games for football and futsal have received a boost. To play football indoors with both smaller fields and fewer players requires a higher level of ball sense and technique. And of course, you will need the right kind of shoes for it! The large brands have followed the trend and focused on finding the best materials for indoor use. The first thing you should keep in mind with a pair of indoor shoes is that the soles should be non-marking, as they provide a better grip and there are often rules for which soles that should be used. Which material you should choose depends on what you think feels most comfortable and what you are used to. Synthetic and leather are preferable and leather is the best option, which is durable and shapes around the foot.
Football shoe material - care advice
The most classic shoes are the ones in leather, but the synthetic materials take over more and more. A leather shoe needs to be cared for with products. It is also more sensitive to moisture. However, leather gives a wonderful feeling that is difficult to change from once you get used to it. Football shoes in synthetic materials can be at least as good as leather shoes. They keep their shape and are more consistent no matter what the weather. You need to keep synthetic shoes clean as well, but it's easier to keep an leather shoe in good condition.
